Message This isn't going to be anything useful for more advanced forum members but I thought that the newer members would find it useful. I was fiddling with the datalogger that I made and I figured I'd post the log just so you could see what it looks like:

[ http://home.comcast.net/~marshallj25/datalog2.xls ] (You need MS Excel to open it)

I'm sure that there's someone out there who doesn't have any equipment to interface with their car's ECU and I thought they may be curious what you could do with such an interface. I have not configured it yet for my car so a couple of those columns may not apply to our car. I just took a short sampling of my car idling to test it out and left all the default settings on.

You can make the interface itself with plans and a board you can order from that are member Xtensive's website: [ http://www.zcontrol.net ]

There's a tech ECU forum at [ http://www.tangentrix.com/forums/index.php ]

There are a few free programs to use with it. I use Ztalk and this program, Nissan Data Scan, which the log was taken from:

You can order everything you need, including that program and have it up and running for under $80. Most of these programs work with a laptop and there is someone that just released a program to work with the Palm.

You'll learn a lot about your car and it'll help you troubleshoot problems your Z may encounter. I think any serious Z'er should have an interface if they plan on keeping their Z and fixing/modding it themself. It's money well spent and it'll do your car more good than that Veilside Ultra Catfish R bodykit you've been looking at.
